10 X-Men With Super Powers Nobody Understands

Some of the big problems with comic books are that creativity overtakes realism and continuity. Certain X-Men characters will end up having powers that create paradoxes, or make you wonder if they used that power in the past.

Glob Herman

Glob Herman

The first appearance was in the new X-Men Vol.2, #138: “The Prime of Miss Emma Frost” (May 2003). This guy is made up of what is essentially living wax. It’s known as bio paraffin and his internal organs and bones basically float inside it. It’s see-through and you can see his bones. This bio paraffin reacts great to heat.

From what we know this wax gives him great strength and is extremely flammable. At one point he acted as a major heat shield for the X-Men academy class when they transported to sword base.

At one point he joined fellow classmates in the Omega gang. Glob Hermans ends up attacking civilian and joins in the fight against the X-Men. The X-Men succeed in taking him down by burning off the wax layer. Also, his wax can be flicked off in small portions. But really besides strength, we aren’t sure what he does.

Magik

X-Men

She first appeared in the 1975 giant size X-Men issue number 1. She originated from Lake Baikal Russia. Which on a side note is one of the oldest, and clearest lakes in the world, and one of the worlds deepest lakes? It’s the 7th largest lake in the world. She was taken to us by a villain known as arcade and used against the X-Men. Eventually, she is rescued and becomes a member.

But her powers consist of teleporation where she brings out these stepping discs which originate from a dimension known as limbo. She’s capable of teleporting across continents, and she can even teleport through space and time, which some others can’t do.

She also has the ability to form an armor the more she uses her magic from this limbo universe. And that is what makes many people wonder what exactly this universe is and how does she manage to harness this energy is unknown. She’s a sorceress of the limbo universe and that’s all we got. Actually, she ended up absorbing all of the limbo universes which destroyed the disks… Now when she teleports, images of ghosts and dragons and other creatures appear.

Shatterstar

X-Men

First appeared in 1991 apart of the new mutants series, and has still remained popular that he was in Deadpool 2. He originates from a planet called Mojoworld and from a century in the future, apparently also in another dimension which I’ll get to his powers.

He was basically a genetically engineered individual and learned to fight in the arenas of mojo world. For his powers, he has superhuman strength, and can yes time travel and dimension travel. He also has extreme senses, keeping him alert. His weapon; staff is extremely strong that he was able to smack the thing into a building. But although strength and such is common in heros, he also has the ability to control electricity.

Fantomex uses electric frequencies to create bioelectric shockwaves. Because he was engineered his bones are hollow which make him move quick, so quick that he is expected to dodge point blank machine gunfire. Also, he’s extremely intelligent and can learn things like languages, unlike anyone.

Omega

X-Men

Originally he was a postman before he found out he was a mutant. He is capable of not just absorbing other peoples powers, but he can take on their personalities. His powers have always been extremely strong that his suit had to be made by reed Richards to regulate his powers.

There was a point in his superhero career where he absorbed the powers of 50 mutants and xorn. Xorn merged with Michael pointer and ended up killing almost all the members of the alpha flight.

The thing with Michael pointer is he does NOT need to touch his mutants to take their powers. Actually, at one point, he managed to take on the power of almost every mutant on earth. So he’s like the superman of absorption. And unstoppable machine with his powers having unknown origins.

Goldballs

Goldballs

Worst name of a hero. Pretty much his ability is to project high-speed gold-colored balls. The thing is nobody really knows what these balls are made of, and these balls also change the size and can be projected from any part of his body.

On top of that, he can call in an infinite amount of them, and throw them in a straight line or direct them. Magic balls that can grow in size wouldn’t the ladies love that.

Fantomex

Fantomex

First appeared in 2002 in New X-Men 128. Created by Weapon Plus and acted as a super sentinel for a while. The weapon plus program made a group of people or mutants with techno-organic organisms fused with the nanotechnology of a sentinel.

Fantomex was born out of this when his mother, who was one of these weapons plus people, was fertilized with nanomachines. So his powers are interesting because his nervous system is known as EVA and it came become external.

When his nervous system leaves he becomes more powerful, as he doesn’t feel his injuries. The EVA identifies itself as a female but fantomex can control her. Also, EVA can shapeshift and fly, and generate energy discharges. Fantomex also has a BACK up internal nervous system in case EVA gets damaged.

Fantomex has the ability to go into a state of mind and do repairs on himself. He’s also an amazing marksman, which his bullets never miss because they are laced with mutant skin. At one point, he was capable of skewing reality with illusions.

Blink

Blink

A member of generation x was also in the film days of future past. She’s extremely unstable and has the ability to teleport. But not just herself as she can teleport a bunch others around her. Which seems sometimes all too convenient. This ability makes her also able to teleport objects or parts of them and use them these objects against her enemies.

Dazzler

Dazzler

She is one of the weirdest I don’t quite understand her power because it’s technical. And She can transduce sonic vibrations. She operates a range of frequencies. And She uses the audible spectrum and uses sound pressure levels.

What does that mean? Apparently, she uses the sound of music cause its very pleasing to her. By using this energy, she can produce light rays that create a trance effect on her enemies. Also, she can blind her enemies.

She uses energy to create holograms and uses light energy to fly. How she converts this energy is unknown. Basically a lot of BS. Probably was made by a music student.

Forge

Forge

A man of great technology. Not just good at inventing but can perceive mechanical energy in action. Which means he can see something and go ah this is how its in use. Basically, he’s an engineer that went to a university.

The thing it’s not really intelligence but more or less like instinct. Sometimes he will figure something out or make something without understanding how he did it. He also knows native American magic and uses magic from time to time.

Rogue

Rogue

A lot of people know of rogue we don’t have to go into great details with her. But do we really understand her powers? The problem with a rogue is she’s had so many different abilities over the years it’s confusing. I’m not going into all of them.

We all know that she has the ability to absorb mutants abilities through touch. However, In some of these cases, she can absorb so much that she can take their memories, personalities, and even duplicate herself to the characteristics of her victims. Her powers even got so great she could do an instant death touch. After the messiah complex basically rogue had the ability to control her powers.

She also permanently absorbed Carol Danvers (miss marvel’s) powers. And even wonder man’s powers which she had trouble absorbing in the past. In some cases when she absorbs the powers of her victims they end up unconscious fora while.
